Jonathan Stern, President & CEO of JMS Platinum Marketing Communications LLC, is a senior marketing communications advisor who has counseled CEO’s and executive leadership teams for some of the world’s most successful business-to-business, consumer brands and professional sports leagues from both the client and agency side.
Jonathan was Executive Vice President and Managing Director for the Miami office of global public relations agency Burson Cohn & Wolfe. During his tenure, he led the day-to-day operation returning it to profitability. He also was responsible for senior strategic counseling, identifying and executing growth plans and maintaining client satisfaction for business-to-business, consumer, corporate and sports brands of all sizes.
Previously, Jonathan spent 11 years with MillerCoors, the largest division of global beer brewer Molson Coors. He was first brought on to upgrade the company’s marketing communications team and secure earned media that underscored the positioning and tonality of 35 different brands in the MillerCoors portfolio. He worked with two CEO’s and senior management teams as head of Media & Investor Relations shaping story narratives, public policy, corporate reputation, social & digital corporate platforms and running an executive speakers bureau.
Earlier in his career, Jonathan worked at the National Basketball Association enhancing the NBA’s global brand with licensing and sponsorship partners and headed marketing and communications for New York City’s 2012 Olympic bid.
He also held senior positions at leading public relations agencies Weber Shandwick, Cramer-Krasselt & Dan Klores Communications.
Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has been a contributing speaker at SocialMedia.Org events and frequently guest lectures at universities across the country on communications and marketing topics.
